4th Anniversary Series : Region 1 Leos Farewell 2011

Hey guys, I announced that the competition of voting the highest reading of blog post is cancelled. Sorry for that due to my busy on studies in previous days. Anyway, the 5 selected blog posts will still be posting up to show everyone here. So you might check it out what I would like to review back in previous months.
Everyone was watching the video that done by us on last year.
For your information, previously I was a Leo Club member from Leo Club of Chung Ling High School. Over a year of service, Region 1 Leo Clubs new organizing committees were organized a wonderful farewell celebration for us together.
Everyone was so serious when watching that video
Dino Fok and Samson Goh from Leo Club of Chung Ling High School, both handsome guy!
On that day after the Leo Forum, we had gathered at YMCA hall to celebrate that function with all our juniors, leos and lions. All of us were from Penang! Penang Lions and Leos ROAR!! Again, there was a lot of features to describe it. For example, games.. food.. and of course performances.
1st Vice President Huei Hong, President Lester Panai Labung and me Treasurer
Jeremy Loh and I
We took a lot memorable photos with everyone. Of course I had taken photos with my buddies and friends. All of us had worked hard for the club through out this fiscal year 2010-2011. I was so glad to have those buddies friends spending time together. Thank you friends!
My best buddies Ivan Lim was playing the games with flour. Phor Tay Leo Club President a.k.a popular young blogger Amanda Heah was there too to play with the flour. Everyone was getting mad on that day. Playing around with the flour.
We were lining up and wait for the games rules and instructions explain by RCC Lion Ong.
All Form 5 outgoing Leos were playing the game that prepared by the organizing committees. The game was playing to find the green bean inside the flour. Using the chopsticks and pick it up. Some of us were playing with the flour keep blowing to someone! It was so cool.
Hao Hak and I inside the photo. I knew him since Form 1, he was a funny guy as well as a good guy. He was kind on helping people and I was glad to know him!
Even RCC Lion Ong also joined us on playing the games and get "attacked" by some Leos to playful with her... It was so cool. All of us were so shy and also some of them keep laughing non stop. Photographers were busy taking photos as well. It was a blast day!
Even our Immediate Past District President Eliza Chia and also the District President now Kok Sheng also played for the game. It was so funny and everyone laughed on it much!
Photos credited from Lion Ong.
All the outgoing key officers were arranged to play the funny game on stage. I thought that it was a light game but seriously to let a balloon explode by feet were so hard! It needs a lot of energy and skills. But at last we sat down to the floor and make it break!
After the event, there were a big big group photos taken for Region 1 Leo Clubs. This means that the fiscal year 2010-2011 had ended with the wonderful projects. The fiscal year 2011-2012 will be better! So I also finished up my service as Leo member through out this fiscal year. Again to shout, ROAR ROAR ROAR!! Posted by GenYong 30.09.2011

4th Anniversary Series : Georgetown Festival 2011

For the 4th Anniversary instead, I will doing some rewind blog post that I missed out previously. So I will choose out 5 great blog posts to blog about and see which one you like. If you like the blog post, you can just LIKE it on Facebook and I will featured you as my featured Blog Follower. Posting something about you and you might win something from me.
On the month of July 7th, I had attended to the Georgetown Festival. There were many booths setting up Rope Walk which perpendicular to Campbell Street. Since my mum was working there, so I brought my sister traveled by Rapid bus and went to meet up my mum. After that we went to the venue nearby which celebrated Georgetown Festival 2011.
The new heritage hotel is coming soon!
Since Georgetown was awarded as one of the World Heritage City on year 2008, Penang Government had take the opportunity to celebrate the festival for 2nd year (started from 2010). From this event, we could experience back the oldies time of Georgetown which full of peoples and crowds. But now everything had changed, Georgetown was no longer lively as last time, just commercial centre will be crowded only.
The organizer had called out the popular lion dance team from Gertak Sanggul to perform in the event for the welcoming session. They were prepared to welcome everyone and of course included the VIPs. I was admired at those small kids so young already came out and join such team! It's a good practice for them and this was really help to develop a good teamwork.
Walked along the street, there was someone playing the classical music together with some others were selling the coffee besides the road. Now how to find this kind of lifestyle in the city? Today most of us are going to restaurant such as Old Town, Mc Donald or Dim Sum Centre to have our breakfast. It's really different from last time!
Nowadays how to find people sitting on the road with a low chair and table enjoying their meals? How to find that people were selling satay on the road? How to find so many people walking on the street? Today, the cars were absolutely greater than the people in the city. Everyone is rushing for the time nowadays, no time to walk around like last time and even not free to sit down and enjoying their breakfast on the road! So it's such a different experience.
Honestly I can say that I never try before to sit down on the middle of the road enjoying my meal. That day, I had ordered a cup of coffee and sat down on the low chair. Seriously, it's really low! I feel that the old lifestyle was not rushing and the time was flying slowly and not same like now time flying so fast!
Besides that, I could see that the grocery shop was set up besides the road and not inside the market. Last time, the people used to buy vegetables beside the road and many thing more even meats and fishes also. I admit that now this kind of style still available at certain places but already decreasing. Nowadays people used to go for Supermarket and buy back everything in one station! I also found that my surname origin place and the beautiful tagline! Those stuffs are so nice. I like it very much!
In the event there were some performances rewind back people's mind about the oldies time. There were chinese orchestra performances, children dressed in Cheong Sam and oldies clothes, acting nyonya selling kuihs at the street. My friend also joined into it! It was great because they love Heritage so much. I was the heritage lover before when I was joining the Heritage Program by Anak-anak Kota.
I had myself a photo with the oldies actor. Actually the person who acted as the oldies actor was same surname with me. He was really a good guy who talented in those kind of traditional stuffs. He liked it so much and always tell the stories for us and of course get the history of something from my dad as well. Good! =)
I took quite lot of photos on that day. Taken the photo with the classic trishaw! Although the trishaw had remade and modified, the style was still there! Furthermore, I had taken the photo with my mum and my sister with the oldies car. From my mum, last time who owned this kind of car mostly was the rich family or the government people, but now this car seems to be keep it as heritage already!
There were of course Chief Minister YAB Lim Guan Eng was invited to witness this festival to be happened! Many people were crowded inside and try to take the snapshot of the chief minister. Well, I was just standing beside and simply take a shot will do. After that before leaved, I take the last photo of standing outside an old "house" (it was stage). So the heritage writing ends here! Every society and clubs were busying with their exhibition. The best way to show outsiders about their achievements and features. This time the outsider not the local people, it was regarding to the international. So I think everyone was taking the chance to push Chung Ling up to the International Level in 2012. xD!
My friend Yang Kwang was the president for chinese calligraphy society. He was in charged on the exhibition too. What I could see at the exhibition, it was really unique calligraphy tools. The chinese words were so unique and the top word 钟灵欢迎你 means Chung Ling Welcome You! It sounds meaningful to everyone! Good one..
Lastly, I walked to the Harmonica Band Booth. They were showing out the different types of harmonicas. I don't know harmonica but I only know that harmonica can performing solo too! Harmonica contains a lot of type. So did you play harmonica? xD Posted by GenYong 23.09.2011
